Story

We’re heartbroken to share that Steven “Cal” Hamilton passed away on May 27. It was sudden, shocking, and devastating, and the family is still trying to wrap their heads around it.
Steven was a one-of-a-kind guy. He loved his family more than anything, worked hard his whole life, and was always there when you needed him—whether it was fixing something, cracking a joke, or just showing up. He made friends everywhere he went, and if you knew him, you probably have at least one great “Cal” story.
He leaves behind his wife, Leslie, and their young son, John-Oliver, along with his older kids—Lyza, Steven II, Jay, Jackson, Howie, and Sebastian—who are all grieving in their own ways. Right now, Leslie and John-Oliver are facing a lot of uncertainty. Cal was the main provider, and without him, they’re trying to figure out how to handle the basics—funeral costs, food, housing—on top of the heartbreak.
I’ve set up this GoFundMe to help them get through the next few months without that extra stress. Anything helps, whether it’s a few dollars, sharing the link, or sending some love their way.
If you knew Steven, you know how much he loved to laugh, talk cars, farm, and just hang out with the people he cared about. If you’re planning to attend the service or just want to honor him in your own way, we’d love for you to wear purple, teal, or yellow—colors that represent mental health awareness, which is something really important to all of us.
Thanks for being part of Steven’s life and for helping his family at this time of great stress. They appreciate it more than words can say.
